Here are 5 free / low cost biohacks that you can start instantly (care of Dave Asprey). These are simple little changes in your life that can lead to a positive result within weeks if not days and according to Dave that are "low and no cost with the highest possible return on investment".
Don't worry, none of these hacks involve inserting micro-chips inside your hand or blood transfusion hacks. :)

Hack #1
Cold Showers
After having your nice warm shower. Aim the showerhead at your forehead and turn the knob all the way to cold. After 10 seconds or so, get out of the shower. You will feel unpleasant and very uncomfortable. Push through and do it again the next day. But this time instead of 10 seconds you should be able to endure the "unpleasant" feeling for 20 seconds or maybe even more.
As you continue to take these "micro-cold" showers you will feel fantastic because according to a recent study on cardiolipin in the mitochondrial membrane. When you modulate what it's made out of, what you're doing is you're telling your body to essentially make "energy" really really quickly. Dave suggests that you should start taking cold showers. This may be difficult at first but he says that you will see significant changes within just days.
Hack #2
No More Blue Light
Limit bright/blue light exposure throughout the day if you are ever feeling tired after a long day tries wearing blue light glasses. Dave started a company called True dark glasses and claims he has more energy when wearing them. Cutting out blue-light is really beneficial and I was able to experience it first-hand. About 2 years ago, I bought a no-name pair on Amazon, and they have worked great for me. I'm able to work longer, and I do believe they prevent dry eyes.
Hack #3
Intermittent Fasting (Frequency being situational)
Skip breakfast… you might find you're less hungry (not more) by the afternoon. After 12 or even 14 hours without food, your body has zero insulin and it has zero protein digestion going on and so all those enzymes in your body that would be responsible for digesting food go in and clean up your cells. Dave suggests doing this every other day - and you and your brain will both feel better.
Hack #4
Quality Sleep
In Dave's most recent book called Game Changers, he revealed a life hack for quality sleep. If you raise the height of the head of your bed by 6 inches it will vastly improve the quality of your sleep. Get blocks, bricks or other items to lift up the head of your bed. So, how does this work? According to Dave, while you sleep all the cells in your brain dehydrate (and then replenish) themselves to get rid of toxic proteins that build up during the day. He calls this process "brainwash". The glymphatic system literally pumps the cells out and replaces the water. When all the toxins that are pumped out, wouldn't it better if it could flow downhill to get away from the brain? Based on research that came out of Germany, this can apparently reduce the chances of a stroke, heart attack.
A bonus tip is to not turn on any lights during the middle of the night. It tells something called the melanopsin sensors, which are in 5% of the cells in your eyes to tell the middle of your brain called the SCN that it is daytime. This can lead to a confused timing system. A sleep study was conducted in Japan. The researchers found out that there was a 73% increase in depression in people who had just a small amount of light. Sleeping in darkness is ideal.
Hack #5
Gratitude
Gratitude has a profound effect on your nervous system which has a profound effect on your cellular biology. Dave says that you should leave out the negative thoughts and events that happened but focus on the positive things that happened that day, even if it is something very small. Write it down, tell your family or just say it to your self.
There we go! Now you know Dave Asprey's top 5 biohacks to upgrade your life.
